These are the disputes and misunderstandings that arise in everyday life, that can sometimes turn physical e.g., you accidentally spill a drink over somebody, you cut in front of somebody in a queue/line. Many of these situations can be solved by de-escalation and conflict-resolution, and don’t require a physical response. In this book Gershon Ben Keren demonstrates when de-escalation is an appropriate response and how to engage in this process. “Krav Maga – Extreme Survival” (Tuttle Press), looks at some of the less prevalent but higher risk and cost situations that people may experience. The book is divided into three sections, covering: active shooter/killer scenarios, car-jackings, and home invasions etc. The active shooter/killer section is the product of research into over 140 incidents, covering the build-up to the event itself, as well as some of the consistent factors that resulted in closing/shutting the shooter/killer down.
